Introduction
Are organic products and cosmetics just another marketing tactic or are mainstream and drugstore cosmetics causing you incremental disease in your life? Well, the truth is this: Organic products are substantial towards living a healthy life.
Present day era of treating skin has become technologically more invasive.
There are also several synthetic skin care cosmetics existing in the market to treat premature aging, but… with consequence. It astonishes me how many beauty care, hygienic, and color cosmetics are made up entirely of chemicals where their toxicity is highly established. Yet, millions of us still use them anyway.
So every person in this world wants the beautiful healthy skin, RIGHT? But every
⇒ CAUSE (e.i. using random ingredients you haven’t done your research on) has an
⇒ EFFECT (e.i. already unappealing, damaged, and aging skin in your 30’s)
Back to our roots: healing our skin from primal sources
I have explored and studied over 5,000 years of ancient sciences where the natural and primary source of healing for ALL civilizations was through the incorporation of HERBS!
We need to remember our roots and turn towards the fundamental and basic forms of healing.
So how can companies be better?
Decrease those Iron oxides or get rid of them all together
Iron oxide is a chemical compound that is made of oxygen and iron. Iron is a metallic element that is found in approximately 5%of the Earth’s crust. When iron oxidizes (rusts), colors such as yellow, orange, and red are created. A large amount of this chemical appears on the planet Mars, which is known as the “Red Planet.” Mars appears to be red because its crust is composed mostly of iron oxides. So.... rust on our faces seeping through our pores? No thank you.
DAMAGE: Ecological Effects due to iron oxides
Large amounts of the chemical can cause serious environmental issues. In mining states, iron mines flooded with water spill gallons of it into ponds, rivers, and lakes. This poisons fish and pollutes the environment. The iron molecules react with oxygen to create a solid condition known as “yellow boy,” which sinks to the bottom of rivers and waterways to pollute them. “Yellow Boy” chokes out aquatic life and kills fish and plants.
We formulate all of Champïone products without the use of any iron oxides. Browse our organic skincare and organic makeup HERE
DAMAGE: Nano-toxicity due to iron oxides
There are various medical uses for iron and iron oxide, as both are naturally occurring and essential to the human body. However, recent research by UC San Diego has suggested that being used commonly in medical treatments might actually cause toxicity in some cell types when paired with specially developed coatings intended to bind the iron oxide particles to particular cell types, like cancerous cells. In a paper published by Biomaterials, senior author Sungho Jin suggested that while neither the products or the coatings were individually harmful, in combination they caused unexpected reactions in the cells they bind to (Mellowship, 2009) A cocktail of dangerous synthetic chemicals that research suggests may be responsible for everything from reproductive complications to allergies and cancer.
Eliminate Titanium Dioxides from your regime
The small particles of titanium dioxide are very similar to asbestos and if absorbed into your body are difficult to get rid of.
DANGER: In theory, they can cause cell damage. Fortunately, uptake seems to be minimal in healthy skin.
Products that contain Titanium Dioxides:
- Sunscreen
- Color Cosmetics such as foundations, concealers, powders, lipstick
See what Dr. Mercola has to say about titanium dioxide in cosmetics(READ MORE HERE)... Just EWW and EWW READ ANOTHER HERE
- Foods such as gum, candy, and desserts, paper, plastics, paint
- Even supplements and vitamins. If you're interested to know more about the dangers of titanium dioxide in vitamins >>>READ HERE<<<
DANGER: harm your brain making us dumb as hell
Now you are wondering, well what's left for me to protect myself? Here are some great natural and organic product substitutes
Use products that contain non-nano zinc that's safe enough for infants, animals, elderly and everyone in between.

Petroleum is another nasty pest found in many mainstream beauty products
LISTED IN PRODUCTS AS: mineral oil, petroleum, liquid paraffin, and paraffin oil
STUDIES: Women’s Health Journal reports, “There is strong evidence that mineral oil hydrocarbons are the greatest contaminant of the human body, amounting to approximately 1 g per person.” Petroleum contaminants mother’s milk and fat with mineral oil saturated hydrocarbons.
According to the Environmental Working Group (EWG), 80% of all beauty products are contaminated with dozens of recognized cosmetic impurities that are linked to cancer and other health concerns. This is the sight I remember when I took a drive through Long Beach. All these factories pumping dirty smoke from petroleum and other toxins into the air. When you enter the city, you see the black smoke overtaking your view in the white sky. Not only does it harm your skin, but it is overtaking our world, petroleum pumps at every corner of the street.
DANGER: Mineral oil stays in your body... forever. It is carcinogenic.
DANGER: Petroleum increases the rate of tumor growth, seals off the skin from any air, water or anything else getting in and out of your pores, leads to permanent scarring, systemic candidiasis in newborn infants, and many more problems.
Metals are also found in your cosmetics too!
From foundation, nail color, lipstick and lip gloss to eyeliner and mascara, metals are found in cosmetics as both intentional ingredients and contaminants. The EWG has found arsenic, mercury, aluminum, chromium and iron in cosmetic products. Metals can build up in your body and cause issues long term.
Research: Scientists tested 73 different cosmetics including skin creams, lipsticks, and lip balms. They found measurable levels of mercury in 44% of creams tested, along with chromium and nickel in 50% and 43% of lipsticks, respectively.
STUDY: Environmental Defense Canada released a study in 2011 that showed 49 popular cosmetic products contained heavy metals that were not directly listed on the label. Those found to be poisoning their customers were:
- Laura Mercier
- MAC
- L’Oreal
- Mary Kay
- Sephora
DANGER: The following metals have been identified as being capable of binding to cellular estrogen receptors and then mimicking the actions of physiological estrogens: Aluminum, Antimony Arsenite, Barium, Cadmium, Chromium, Copper, Lead, Mercury, Nickel, Selenite, Tin, Cobalt, Vanadate. Directly linked to Cancer, reproductive disorders, Neurological problems, Memory loss, Mood swings, Dermatitis (hair loss)
Synthetics, Parabens, and Chemicals will affect your health 100%
Are Parabens and Other Preservatives really that bad?
Without a damn doubt, preservatives are meant to preserve our body in the corpse not while we are still alive!!
Read the label. Read the label. Read the label. I cannot stress that enough.
TYPES: Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Ethylparaben, Butylparaben E216 to name the few.
RESEARCH: Recent research has detected the presence of paraben esters in 99% of breast cancer tissues sampled. In 60% of cases, all five esters were detected. Parabens are chemicals that have been shown to have estrogen-like properties, and estrogen is one of the hormones involved in the development of breast cancer
DANGER: Parabens can affect your body much like the estrogens, which can lead to diminished muscle mass, extra fat storage, and male gynecomastia (breast growth) linked methylparabens in particular to metabolic, developmental, hormonal, and neurological disorders, as well as various cancers. The FDA has ruled that they are safe to use up to 25% in beauty products!!!
Parabens increase estrogen levels. They are dangerous to children and elderly,
SO JUST SAY NO to PRESERVATIVES
So what is your makeup really filled with that makes the price so affordable?
You’re Paying for Fillers, Stabilizers, Solvents, and other Control Agents that fill your products up!
Disodium EDTA, a multi-purpose ingredient that functions as a preservative, chelator, and stabilizer, binding with heavy metal ions.
Phthalates, a family of industrial chemicals used as plastic softeners or solvents, are frequent additions to beauty products. Hundreds of animal studies have proven that phthalates can damage the liver, kidneys, lungs and reproductive system.
DANGER: Phphthalate exposure during pregnancy may lead to abnormal development in male infants, including low hormone levels and small genital size. But the FDA says there is not enough evidence to conclude that phthalates pose a health risk.
Diethanolamine (DEA), closely related to cocamide DEA, and triethanolamine (TEA) are used as emulsifiers and/or foaming agents.
DANGER: Not only can they trigger allergic reactions, dryness, and irritation, but they can also form cancer-causing compounds when in contact with nitrates.
Some other consistency-boosters include sodium hydroxide (pH adjusting), benzyl alcohol (masking) and sodium carboxymethyl beta glucan (binding)
Inactive Ingredients in products are cheap!
Furthermore, many inactive ingredients are added as adjuncts because they can be manufactured inexpensively while prolonging shelf life. By adding cheap fillers to the pure active ingredients, cosmetics companies increase their profits.
Perfect comparison for all my beer drinkers is
Craft beer (e.i. Hefeweizen) vs. Generic brand beer (Natty Light)
How does one beer cost less than the other? Well, Natty Light might have more water, and GMO corn syrup to fill in the empty spaces and bring the cost down. Whereas, Hefeweizen has extra additives such as wheat malt, yeast, clove banana. You see the point? Makeup companies have a similar concept.
TYPES: Propylene glycol is ideally a vegetable glycerin mixed with grain alcohol, but it can also be a synthetic petrochemical mix used as a humectant. This ingredient and its closely related synthetic cousins, PEG (polyethylene glycol) and PPG (polypropylene glycol),
DANGER: Causes allergic reactions, skin conditions, eczema, and hives.
What about the colors and fragrances in skin care and cosmetic products?
PURPOSE: Fillers are added to make cosmetics look appealing or smell good, extremely LOUD.
Synthetic colors and dyes, typically labeled as DF&C or D&C followed by a color and a number
DANGER: can be carcinogenic in high doses.
Aluminum has been used as a color enhancer in cosmetics.
DANGER: As a heavy metal, aluminum is a neurotoxin with the capacity to alter the metabolism of cells by blocking certain enzyme systems.
Fragrance additives are allowed by the FDA and do not have to be disclosed up to a specific amount. You can find these additives listed on most mainstream brands.
DANGER: The term “Fragrance” contains as many as 200 chemicals that can induce headaches, vomiting, dizziness, rashes, and hyperpigmentation.
Then you say, I thought mineral makeup is good?
PURPOSE: Increases luminosity in cosmetics, adding slip, aid in adhesion and prevent essential minerals and pigments from sticking to your skin.
Bismuth oxychloride is a byproduct of lead and copper refining, begins as an impurity and chemically related to arsenic and antimony.
DANGER: It causes irritation and sensitization.
Other common filler ingredients in mineral makeup include silica spheres and talc.
DANGER: Both are respiratory irritants that are linked to cancer.
Lesson Learned
I know this information might come with anxiety to most of us considering we are thinking about how many products we have and never checked for these signs, as well as, how many brands we use that are listed in various research as DANGEROUS. When will we decide enough is enough and stop choosing "convenience" and actually choose the right choice to prevent all types of heartaches. Now more than ever is the time to SHOP WITH AWARENESS.
